I suppose it's all down to personal taste. I thought the Scissors Sisters' cover of Comfortably Numb was awful, but I'm a Pink Floyd fan and I know some Sisters' fans liked their cover. I also thought the Wets version of Love Is All Around was much inferior to the Troggs' original. Also, Whitney's version of I Will Always Love You wasn't a patch on Dolly's original. But that's just my opinion.

Joss Stone ~ Fell in Love with A Boy

Boyzone ~ Father and Son

both of which might be ok but those originals shouldnt have been touched.
The Carpenters-Ticket to Ride. it is just so slow and crap compared to the Beatles original.
Rolf Harris-Stairway to Heaven

walk this way (comic rlief version) by girls aloud and sugababes
Any cover by Westlife of which there are many.

They are blessed with the unique talent of rendering all songs bland and soulless.
Sadly, I remember those 'Top Of The Pops' albums from the 1970s. 'Nuff said.

Ronan Keating should be shot at dawn for his versions of Iris and If Tomorrow Never Comes.
the beatles version of Arthur Alexanders Anna, and at the moment the bloke who's destroying thePlatters "great pretender" in that vw ad
mark owen covering "the boy with the thorn in his side" by the smiths

tori amos covering happiness is a warm gun
all saints murdering under the bridge
All of you are way wrong. Madonna's American Pie makes me throw up on impact like a subsonic crowd control weapon.

Worthy of note is Louise's cover of Stuck in the Middle, even though I never really liked the original
Britney Spears - I can't get no satifaction (How can she do that? i mean the best Rock and Roll Band in the world 'ROLLING STONES' then you get britney oh dear! Somethings gone wrong there ha ha)

i must say though michael jackson covered 'come together' by the beatles. and i do like it by michael j rather then the bealtes so sometimes it isn't always bad.

but that's what i think.
I don't think I've ever agreed with an opinion on this site quite as much as I agree with Llamatron's comments. Worst of the lot must be their cover of Seasons In The Sun. I can almost see them now, sitting on their little stools, grinning blandly and happily chirrupping their way through a song about a man bidding a sad goodbye to his loved ones as he faces the prospect of imminent death. Classy.

Midge Ure's version of Tom Rush/The Walker Brothers' mighty No Regrets was pretty dire too.
Oh gosh, how could I forget (and believe me, I've tried) Mariah Carey's frankly terrifying version of Without You?
