Isn't it still amazing the number of people who can't be bothered to say a simple thank you when given an answer to their questions. I know all the regulars do, but common curtesy shoud prevail !

I totally agree with all your comments. Since joining this site my faith in human nature has been restored by the fact that people, who don't know me, can be so kind and helpful. I always say thank you as I appreciate the time and trouble you all take to help me.
I must confess that I have a "black list" containing a few names (who shall remain nameless!) of people I will no longer help. Having gone to a great deal of effort to solve their queries, I didn't even get an acknowledgement....

Thanks very much to all who have replied. It is so pleasing that there are still people like us who still have the basic courtesy to say thanks. Perhaps some of the others might read this thread and take note. Thanks again.
A please and thank you never hurt anybody and please do not tar us with the same brush.A few of us do appreciate your answers and I for one am glad of the help I get on here a Big Thankyou to you all
Can I, belatedly, add my voice to what has already been said here? Good manners are certainly a thing of the past and I believe some young people have never heard of them. Like many others I appreciate greatly the help received on AB - there is a group of people here who are always ready to help and they deserve acknowledgement. Those who are failing to do so please note!
Can't agree more with what has already been said regarding manners and politeness . Just had a bit of time on my hands so went through the first 2 or 3 pages to see . Guess what ? I reckon less than half have bothered to say 'thank you' . Surely they have to go to their question to see the answer - is it really too much trouble to say 'thanks' while they are there ? One person asked 12 questions early on this morning without saying a word of thanks.Would like to see , don't know if it is possible , a tick or something similar somewhere in the answer to show that the person asking the question has seen the reply . Then we would know that they have seen the replies .
I totally agree teacher1, curtesy costs nothing, but is rich
in doing, my grandad always said you wil not get a second
chance to make a first impression, but some people just can't be bothered ,& we all like a pat on the sometimes, i know i do,we all quiz 24/7 & do research our answers, but it is pleasing to tap into the vast knowledge of Answer Bank
it's a search in all but name. There i feel better for that.

Thanks once again everyone. You're a great bunch.
Agree wholeheartedly with the comments.- it's common courtesy to send a quick thanks. I have sent 2 answers and didn't get any acknowledgement. Very off-putting.
Oi Teacher!

You gave loads of people stars, but not me!

I'm now wondering if this is how confusion sometimes arises?

Either that, or you don't like me! LOL

Beth
eek. Now I have stars!!!!! LOL

My apologies bthbn, but I am not really in favour of the star system. I prefer the more personal thank you, and if you have read all the thread you will notice that I reply now and then to make certain that I do thank all concerned. I have now given you 3 stars and I wish they could be gold ones. All the best to everybody.
Hi Teacher,

I'm not altogether in favour of the star system either.

I hope you realise that I was light hearted in my comments about no stars!

At the moment I'm looking at a question I answered at 8ish this morning and wondering if my answer will be acknowledged..............benefit of the doubt for now, but perhaps another rude person who should have better manners!

Thanks Beth. Yes I did realise you were having a laugh. That's what I like about the majority of people on this site. They are so friendly and helpful.
Only a few moments to go before I get embarrassed again on the Links game. Fingers crossed. Bye for now.
John.
