Its interesting how you all quote the bible and see yourself as christians and followers of it message.Yet each one of you would not see each other as christians.
Pugwashjw, as a jehovahs witness, would not see Theland & Fingerprint as belonging to God.
Theland, as we all know, detests Roman Catholocism, so would not see Fingerprint as "saved" and would certainley not accept Pugwash's J.W's as christian.
Fingerprint, as a catholic, would not accept Theland's protestantism or Pugwash's J.W. views

Just arrived back on this thread. I really thought Theland was a Catholic due to his belief in the Trinity. sorry about that.
As to my situation, I am happy that J.W'S have worldwide agreement, with no subdivisions believing different things.
And the fact that we all use scripture when stating a position.
We cross reference all scripture to distinguish between literal and symbolic meanings.
And right now understand that the condition of the world is so bad, that Armageddon cannot be far off.
The door to door witnessing work will eventually come to an end. We are simply continuing Jesus' door to door ministry.
And we are very aware of (2 Peter 3:9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.
ONLY WHEN ARMAGEDDON OCCURS CAN OUR EFFORTS BE PROVED. ONLY YOU CAN CHANGE YOU. SO DO NOT BE TOO UPSET WHEN WE COME KNOCKING.

Hi Pugwashjw, good to have your opinion on here. Just got a few questions about your faith if you don't mind.

How would you answer the argument that JW's are discouraged from studying Jehovas Witness history or even reading old watchtower magasines as they are riddled with contradictions, altered doctrines (altered over 180 times) and false propheies. It is also argued to JW's are strongly encouraged to only have friends and aquantances who are also JW's therefore keeping outside examinations of the beliefs to a minimum.

Does the practice of excommunication and "shunning" not only destroy families and marriges, and often leave JW's with no idea why those who have left the group -have left?

My other question is how would you answer the argument that JW's have blatantly altered and added to the word of God to change it's meaning to suit their immediate needs. Verses have clearly been taken out of their immediate context, and the meanings of words have been changed. The vast majority of theologians claim that the JW interpretation of scripture does not stand upto any type of critical examination and that the Watchtower project the image the JW's are fighting the enemy of God to discourage JW's from examining their own theology?

Wizard69 - I, like other people reading the Bible, am bound to bring some subjectivity into my study of it.
But, scriptures that are not immediately understood, are interperated by other scriptures.
The exegesis is therefore subject to what the Holy Spirit reveals, in the light of our experience, and other scriptures. Therefore, if you call that a measure of subjectivity, so be it.
Question Author
For the umpteenth time, would you consider Pugwash and Fingerprint to be saved--to be your brothers and sisters in christ? If not why not, since they too believe exactly the same as you do.Namely that the spirit has revealed the scriptures to them as well.
Jesus said that nobody comes to the Father except through Him. Therefore, I consider it a precondition of salvation, to accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God.
It is not for me to judge others, God is the Judge.
It is up to me to tell others about Jesus, and pray for them, that they may receive His forgiveness.
So, how can I, a mere man, look into anothers heart and really know what is there? I cannot do that. Once somebody has heard the message, the choice is theirs.
There are born again Christians in all denominations of all religions that claim to be Christian, and many that are not. God looks into the heart, I cannot do so.
