Anybody wondered whether male and female animals have different voices like humans do? Can you tell from a barking dog wheher it is male or female?

I'm not sure if I could tell the differance between a male or a female dogs bark, maybe another dog could.

M & F birds have differant calls, tawny owls for instance, if you hear 'Toowit Toowoo' its normally one bird responsible for the first part, and the other owl answering with the toowoo
