It is very true that production of vitamin D is a major benefit of sun exposure, but it is not a major benefit of tanning in a sunbed, because the composition of UVA and UVB rays is different. Tanning beds are approximately 95% UVA, and it is UVB that induces vitamin D production. Very interesting debate though.
hmm indeed. I meant to post this in the thread, but can't locate it and can't be bothered to go searching for it.
