Yes, you will need a dvd re-writer plus suitable burning software, like Nero.

This looks like a good buy :-

These recorders are quite easy to use.
You don't need an external burner. The one suggested by puzzleRus is internal, and you can just oik out your existing DVD ROM and replace it. Most DVD writers come bundled with suitable software (such as Nero or Roxio) but I can find no mention of it with that particular device, so before you buy, make sure you check.

hi to puzzlesrus & rojash .
now this has left me in a quandary
to rojash please note that i have no knowledge of taking apart my pc . my pc cost me 900.00 so there is no way am i going to oik out my driver . any other ideas . to puzzlesrus . i use windows movie maker is this good enough .thanks
When IBM designed the original PC it was with the intention that it would be easy for any user to upgrade it, which is why the power supply is in a sealed unit, so that ther are no dangerous voltages inside.
To replace the drive, all you need to do is:
Remove the cover
disconnect the two cables on the back of the drive
remove the 4 screws holding it in and slide it out.
Then just reverse the operation to install the new one.
The whole job should take no more than 10 minutes.

If you are really too nervous, then just take it to a local PC shop where they will probably charge a few pounds (in addition to the cost of the drive).

Alternatively, you could get an external drive.but it will be more expensive, and won't offer such good performance.

Here are some external drives:

If you don't feel confident with a screwdriver (it's quite a simple task really, to remove a side panel of your PC and 4 screws to remove existing dvd drive), then an external drive is the only other option - more expensive and probably not as efficient. Moviemaker does not incorporate burning software and Nero is the industry standard.
I do wish AB would update their pages more frequently ! No answer was showing when I came to reply.
