Smoking at work..?

I have just recently started a new job and work closely with three other colleagues. We are the only people on the premises during the shift that we work. All three of them are smokers whereas I'm a non-smoker. The company I work for provides a seperate room for smokers to go during their breaks and as such they go in there leaving me alone in the non-smoking section of the canteen (I cant go into the smokers rooms as I'm asthmatic).. Being new I want to mix and join in with the rest of the guys ect but I feel that I'm being ignorant by staying alone in the non-smoking section. What I want to know is what can I do to be more sociable with the rest of my colleagues (Start smoking is not an option lol) Would the company have to close the smoking room to smokers when the ban on smoking in the work places comes into effect this summer?

The answer to your very last question is "yes", so that solves that problem then, they'll have to lurk outside and you'll be able to stand with them.

Incidently- have you ever seen the episode of Friends where Rachel takes a job in an office with a load of smokers? Very funny!

Don't do anything to jeopardise the poor bloody smokers! They are already anaethema as it is and don't need any more attention.
.... and carry a lighter!
