where can i find the correct mpg for cars

I am getting a new car and one consideration is mpg, however, I have read in the papers that the official mpg figures vary from "actual" real life driving - is there a website that I can see what people are actually getting per gallon, as opposed to being led by manufacturers figures? Thanks a lot

there are many forums set up for owners of different types of car. Make a short list of cars you are interested in, find the forums and ask the drivers on there what they are averaging.
