I have come across a statistic that I find hard to believe.
Is it true that there are 6,289 islands in the British Isles.

for goodness sake, don't let this information get through to Gordon Brown! There must be some way he can rake in some taxes from that lot!!! :O)

My thanks to you both and I have to say that I am amazed to discover that the British Isles contains so many islands.
n.b Dustybun.I have never been too upset to pay taxes for the privilege of living in England despite the fact that I was born in Ireland.
You will no doubt be surprised to learn that if you could add our shorelines together in a straight line it would reach from here to New Zealand.
