Not too sure with dogs, but it works for cats - use a squeezy bottle filled with water and give them a quick squirt every time he chews something. Eventually he'll learn not to do it, otherwise he'll get wet! Good luck.
Your over-use of capitals and punctuation marks may be symptomatic of your general over-excitability. Is it possible your dog is picking up on this?
Chewing can be a sign of boredom. Try buying or making a tight container which you can hide some of his/her favourite treats in. This should keep him/her amused for a while.. when it's eaten simply refill.
My dogs have a 'toy box' full of things they are allowed to chew. This box is always accessible to them at all times. I also give them old shoes that smell of us! As Eno-missy says, it is more often than not a sign of boredom, although puppies will chew everything in site, much the same as young human babies.
