rover 25 door lock

my rover 25 ,2000 mod passenger door lock has faled so that i cant open the door ,i have gained acess behind the trim panel but cant find away to release the mechanism it apears that the cam release in lock has broken can anyone help many thanks...

i had the same problem with a Daewoo, the only solution i came across was the push a bit of metal that appeared to be sticking out the bottom of the lock mech.
apologise for the vague description.
The lock only did this if the handle on the outside was pull while it was locked.
