What to do in manchester?

I am off to Manchester tommorow 2 see Kylie and me, my hubby and our 8 year old daughter will be in the city for about 12 noon. Has anyone got any ideas on suitable places to visit until the concert later.

With an 8-year-old in Manchester, there's one place which is unmissable. It's the Museum of Science & Industry. If you're not into science, don't allow the name to put you off. It's an interesting and fun-filled place, for both children and adults.

Bus no. 33 (from Piccadilly Gardens) stops outside the museum. The free MetroShuttle bus (from Piccadilly or Victoria stations) stop nearby. Alternatively, take a train to Deansgate station or a tram to G-Mex, which are both close by:

I can guarantee that you'll have to drag your daughter out of the Xperiment gallery. (I've taken loads of youngsters there and they've all loved it):

The museum is open to 5.00pm tomorrow but you should allow an absolute minimum of 2 hours for your visit. Admission is free although it will cost you �1 per person for a ride on the steam train. (Don't leave that until last because the last ride is at 4.00pm):
