But make perfect sense within the sentence you are saying? On Christmas day, my 4 yr old son was watching my dad drop hot potatoes from one baking tray to the next and he said "Grandad? Why are you PLOMPING those potatoes in to there?"

What a great word!!? No?

Funny thing was, my dad actually answered without batting an eyelid!

I like to use the word "Clomp", when describing the noise a dog makes when it opens and shuts it mouth quickly.

Or "PLAFF", to describe something soft and heavy falling onto a table.

I'm trying to think of a word to describe the noise of being smacked round the face with a large wet fish.
My son told me one day he had 'snodals' & somehow I knew he meant he needed to blow his nose, dont ask me how though! lol

pingping we say delicioso as well :)
Not really in the same sense but I work with pre-school children and yesterday the skin was taken off their apple. Today it was left on and one of the boys asked "Can I have the roof taken off please".
lol@Maggie My son asks for the 'crust' to be cut off!!
