ive just set up 2 moniters, atm i have them running in clone, now because ones over the other side of the room (use as a tv for movies while gaming) i want to know how to have my active desktop on my main moniter, but be able to drag windows over to the secondary, without enabling span (as that sends half my desktop over, lol. im using a nvidea 7900gt and i have the nview program, if that helps. thanks

I think the option you require is "Extend my desktop onto this screen".

any idea where tht is on the nvidea settings?
Depends which version of the Nvidia drivers you are using. The easiest way to do it is by right-clicking the screen, choosing properties, going to the settings tab, select the second monitor, and then check the box. (in other words, don't bother with the NVidia setting application at all!)

theyre the latest drivers (whatever the version may be) and theres no second monitor to select in settings, im sure there used to be....
If they are the latest (November 2006), right-click the nvidia icon in the system tray and choose Nvidia Control Panel.
Click the Display Settings icon.
Under the Multiple Displays heading, click Run multiple display wizard.

Can't tell you more than that, as I don't want to run the wizard and risk having to reconfigure my displays!
