Hi guys - i have woken up today with a small painful lump right inside my finger (next to my little finger) right at the bottom of the finger where it meets the palm of my hand - its the size of a ball bearing and painful when i push it.
On the outside there is nothing visible. I suffer badly from RSI - is it possible it's just a spot? I will leave it a week and then see a DR if it hasn't cleared up just wondered if anyone else has had this or not. It aches a bit when i type. Thanks :-) xx
hi surreygirl it sounds like a ganglion/gangling not sure of correct speling, i get them all the time , quite harmless , but if you want reassurance which i would with any lump see your doc hun, does sound like the thing i get though!! take care x
many thanks serendipity1 - i have a real fear of drs but if it doesnt go i will pop along - its beginning to ache a bit now, so i may have no choice but to go - such fun x
My son has one on the inside of his wrist - it just appeared one morning and the doctor said it is a ganglion. They are totally harmless and even though his has never gone is doesnt cause any problems whatsoever.
Thanks just read up on ganglion cysts and it sounds exactly like what i have and i do over use my fingers for typing a lot. Oh dear, hope it goes quick.
His is just like a little marble - you can actually feel it move under the skin if you wiggle it a bit.It doesn't hurt him unless he presses iy quite hard, and to be honest I don't think he even remembers it is there most of the time. He has had it for about 4 years now. My doctor said that years and years ago people used to whack them with a Bible to get rid of them but I declined to try that on my son.lol
