As a music writer, I have spent many happy hours in Edwards, I didn't know about the fire, and i am sad that it's gone - another piece of my youth destroyed!

The pics are pretty bad, its pretty much destroyed well and truly.
Oh thats so sad. This is a disasterous year for Goth/Metal clubs and bars. We've already lost the Fox in Wardour Street and the Dev in Camden is on last orders.

Yeah i know, also in Birmingham Costers, Oasis market and the Carling academy are being knocked down in around 2008 to build more bullring grrrrr why?!!!! we have 3 bullring building what they gunna do just build another one with the same shops again...blah its asif the alternative scene doesnt matter. Why not take away some trendy bars theyve got enough of them they wouldnt even realise if a couple were gone!
OK Brum has it worse than London at present. I live in Shepherds Bush and we're going to have the largest shopping mall in Europe - urrrgh, vile, vile, vile (this is from someone with a massive shopping fetish).

What they've done to Camden is a disgrace, its half knocked down and the latest thing is to get rid of the Stable area. Petitions dont seem to count as the Council think that this will be good for the area - idiots - half the reason people go there is because its Boho, weird etc. I've been going over 30 years .. kid/teenager/still doing it and always wanted to live there.

Definately agree that getting rid of 'trendy' bars with no character either from decor or the people who go there is a good thought.

Back to Edwards....the weird thing is that nothing is really mentioned. I looked on the Kerrang! site and nothing - even though Jason X hosts the Slab.

Came to the conclusion that this is the modern day version of a Witch hunt - get rid of their clubs and they'll just fade away.

Phew that was a rant :D

Ugh what is the deal with more and more and more shopping malls - forgive me if im wrong but they just have the same chainstore shops inside each one u get boots, superdrug, newlook, virgin, mcdonalds, burger king, disney store and gadget shop etc etc(which is the only shop i particularly like) hah!
They seem to just get rid of anything that is different, i like camden, only been the once though!
Im from kidderminster and our greatest local metal club got taken over and turned into some posh pub that serves fine meals with bread rolls and silver service on the tables!!!they even banned alternative people in there!!!! but then they realised they got no custom! This pub was crazy u could smoke weed in there and everything before and now this!!!
Nah not alot mentioned about eddies, they have there own myspace group and theres talk of rebuilding but apparently its up to the brewery and they may decide to build a nice trendy danceclub as it may bring in more custom ugh why?!!!
My mate was in there on the night of the fire and he was apparently arguing with them to let him have his coat haha bless!

Yeah I know - all the clubs are being turned into faceless chain theme bars.....theme being bland, dull, boring, playing drossy music and wearing naff, bland clothes (typical elitist Goth me)!

I was having a massive panic as I am going to see the Cruxshadows at the Underworld on 2nd Dec and I know they were booked to play Eddies on 1st. Kept think - arrgh we're not going to get in, everyone who was going to Eddies is going to come to London instead, sad person that I am :D

However if happens Sheep on Drugs are playing the Scala the same night.

The Scala - the only place in the world that will never change... couldnt afford the cost of cleaning it :D
