Do you pine for clubs of your youth?

I still miss The Tin Can, The Odeon and Edwards No. 8 in Birmingham - I saw loads of bands at all of them.

Anyone else look fondly back to their youth, and clubs that are either closed down, or knocked down, but either way, just not there any more?

Maybe so - it's years since I was in that part of the city - my work takes me to the Academy a lot now. Just a short trot from New Street Station - ideal.

Yep, definitely still pine for one particular club of my youth, me and my friends used to think we were the dogs b*llocks of the whole place (needless to say in reality we were not!), then we all went away to uni and when we returned a whole new breed had taken over!
I remember the Academy when it was the hummingbird lol. Did you ever go to the powerhouse?

I did go to The powerhouse! And i wne to the Humingbird as well - saw Dennis Brown and Yellowman there - not together sadly - I was the ONLY white man in the venue, and both gigs were sold out!
Remember seeing the Fine Young Cannibals there in 85 just before they hit the charts lol
