i've been getting light headed spell recently so went to the doc and had to have blood tests and an ecg. the lady taking the ecg told me i had an irregular heartbeat, but said it was nothing to worry about. but still doesnt stop me from doing so? is it something to worry about and could this be cause my light headed spells, because as i told the doc and the nurse its only really happens after i come off my computer but neither checked my eyes or my ears incase it was a balance problem?

Snap! crew I had an ECG on tuesday for the same thing. I don't get my results till this tuesday coming. Did they do your BP? Mine was normal@ 120/80. I had palpitations for most of last week. Did you have a cholestral level test? Daisy.

Glad your BP was ok crew. I've never felt light headed after using the computer, its only when I get the palpitation's. Mind you,my cholestral was higher than normal so Im back on the Slimming World Plan and taking plant sterols. Im 58,Gawd I feel sooo old now..lol.

but it is nothing to worry about right. just maybe start exercising less drink kind of thing

can it go back to normal?
I honestly dunno crew. My cousin who had the same was told to lose weight and excercise even just a half hour walk each day and she still gets the irregular heartbeats now and then but the doc told her not to worry so she does'nt anymore. I think it's because we're more aware of our heart beating fast. that we tend to worry more. Your Bp is fine and only going by what I've read ,an irregular heartbeat is harmless but best to let your gp talk to you about that, meantime Google " Irregular heartbeat and Palpitation's Reason" I did! Lemme know how you get on ok? Daisy.
I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrilation a few years ago and apart from ending up in hospital twice with it to correct it, it really hasn't affected me that much - worst thing I found to do was worry about it as stress and worry can amplify it thus causing it to "miss" a beat a lot more.
Hope this helps
woodchopper. What did they do correct the AF? Just wondering. Thanks. Daisy.
The first time I was in hospital with it, it went away itself after 24hrs - the second time they had to put me on a drip of Digoxin to settle it out.
After discharging me they put me on Beta-blockers which I couldn't cope with and am now on a drug called Flecainide Acetate which controls it quite well.
Only when I'm stressed does it flare up - when I mean flare up I mean I get palpitations and you would think my heart was missing a beat then kicking backing in.
Sometimes ( when stressed ) the heart would go back into AF for a few seconds, but does not last for any length of time.
I can always tell when My heart goes into AF - it feels like butterflies fluttering about inside my ribcage.
Only when it lasts for any length of time do I go back to the A & E.
