what does the sky's the limit mean my english teacher uses it a lot but we have no idea of what it means and she set it for a little homework please tell me what it means she's also not very good with her english so i don't know whether shes saying "the sky's the limit" or " sky has the limit" help1

The sky is the limit is when there is no limit to how far you can go in what you are doing. For example....For people who work hard at this company, the sky's the limit. You feel very optimistic about your future because there are lots of possibilities ahead.. for example "After I graduate from university, the sky's the limit.
mintsweet13 , you state that your 'english' teacher is not very good with her english .

odd isn't it - why is she teaching english - are you sure she is not your maths teacher or something ? - lol

If she's set it for homework she's probably hoping to learn something herself from the work she gets back!
