What were your weddings like, or for those of us who haven't had one what would yours be like?

Mine...depending on the circs and the guy but this is my fantasy one :)
in a pretty little church or stately home kind of place. I do love the idea of a horse drawn carriage (my friend had one and it was gorgeous).
An ivory white dress, off the shoulder with a bit of a plunge (not a tarly one though) then in at the waste. A modest tiara and a vale (down the back only) and some lovely delicate silver jewellery. My little cousins as flower girls and older cousin as bridesmaid, my mate as matron of honour and cousin's little boy as a page boy.
A beautiful ceremony, not a huge do close friends and family only, either all light with lots of beautiful flowers or Christmassy with beautiful flowers and candles.
Reception I'd probably go for some kind of posh buffet rather than a sit down meal, maybe a nice carvery or hog roast, lots of champagne and mingling.
Then an evening do where loads of other people cold come with a lovely buffet of things like baby sausages in honey and wholegrain mustard, roast potatoes, lots of fresh carvery cold meats etc... then dance the night away before making the most of the honeymoon suite (with jacuzzi bath and four poster bed) :)
I'd love to have breakfst with everyone who stayed over too.
Then I'd want to go off, just the two of us for a blessing ceremony somewhere beautiful, maybe a gorgeous beach with crystal blue sea and wearing a lovely while flowing number with flowers in my hair.

My ex and I married and spent 3 happy years together without our parents knowing we were married. As far as I know his still have no idea. Got married quickly, had a quick one at his parent's house as we didn't have a place together yet and after went bowling and I won a turkey (was round xmas time).
I love the idea of a wedding, but i just think 'what if it all ends in disaster'!!! I dont want to go through the heartache and pain of a divorce! And the stupid flippin 'statistics' are stacked against everyone nowadays, its not fair! I want a pretty white wedding with a handsome young man!!!!
I can honestly say I dont care where it is or whether its a posh expensive do or a simple cheap do, as long as the people I care about and the people that care about me are there, that is all that matters.
When my mum got married, I was 11 and my dad (not my real dad, but he was around from when I was around 18months old &stuck around although my mum was only 18 and he only 19) and mum were climbers, they got married at the registry office in the morning and just took the required witnessess with them, and in the afternoon, we went up to Mallham Crag, which was enclosed with a waterfall (yorkshire dales) with a family friend as the 'vicar' and we had a portable cd player for the brides entrance music and all their friends and family were there and after the vicar-y bit I say 'can you feel the love tonight' (from the lion king), then we went to a hotel and had the sit down meal and a reception later with a live band. They were pretty skint when they both got married, both having just finished their degrees and they said to guests rather than buying them present's they would prefer that the guests contribute a small amount, �5 or �10 towards the sit down meal. It was the most heartfelt wedding I have ever been to. And that is what I think is a perfect day...

I am a little nervous about being the centre of attention in all honesty so I tend to focus on things like the dress and the cake and not the whole ceremony thing. Plus my family are a bunch of crazies and there's at least a hundred of them that should be invited, if it was a normal type wedding, and they all dont speak to at least one other family member for some reason.
When I was engaged, am not now. I was all for running away to get married and I didnt want to take his name but now I reckon, when its the right person I would want everyone to see me marry him and I would want his name...maybe
