Which formulas are there (and what are they) to use when working with spreadsheets in Excel? I'm particularly looking for adding, subtracting, multiplying, averages etc. Thankyou!

Assuming you have a number in box A1 and a number in box A2:

Adding is =A1+A2 or =SUM(A1:A2)

Subtracting is =A1-A2

Multiplying is =A1*A2

Average would be =A1+A2/2 or =SUM(A1:A2)/2

You can either type in the box number or select it with the mouse.

formula is =average(A5:A25) where A5:A25 is the cell range of the amounts you want to average

From the Insert menu - select function.

From the select a category menu - select All - This will let you see what is available.
