I tried opening Excel via my shortcut today and was told "please wait while Microsoft configures Windows XP Professional with Front Page" It then says "the feature you are trying to use is on a cd rom which is not available. The path Microsoft XP can't be found verify that you have access to this location and try again or try to find the instllation package Proplus MSI in a folder from which you can install he product. Next message Error 1706 set up cannot find file for potential solutions see C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice 10C3SET UP.HLP. IF I OK THAT ADVICE I GET MESSAGE "FATAL ERROR DURING INSTALLATION". What does this mean! I havent done anything different on my computer to cause any problems. Excel has been ok for the past 2 years. I am complete novice so any easy to follow help would be appreciated. I do not have an installation disk as I purchased the computer 2nd hand 2 years ago

Try system restore, to a time when you know it was working properly.
kelfoan, I had the same problem with MS Word, and it still happens although it used to open without any weird messages before...(must be a microsoft glitch)
I don't think your MS Excel has been deleted. When you open this program, just click on "cancel" immediately when the "preparing to install..." message pops up. Excel should open ok after that....

Hope this works.
