Holly berries a mildly toxic. So if the person wants to be running to the loo or have a basin beside them, they should stay away from them.
Some American holly tree leaves are used to make caffeine rich teas.
Many birds eat them especially members of the thrush family, also rodents like mice and voles like to eat them too.
