Does anyone remember this comedy from the early 1980's starring Simon Callow and Brenda Blethyn about Tom Chance (Callow) to whom the most unfortunate coincidences happen? They were so frequent that the local police sergeant instructed his constables that under no circumstances was Tom Chance to be arrested - it gave rise to many hilarious situations.

I remembe that well, what a brilliant series, has it ever been released on DVD? I remember he always used to down a pint of lager in one.
It was fantastic and I have mentioned it on here a number of times when people talk about all time favourite sit-coms.

It's never been released on DVD or Video in this country but there was (rather strangley) in the US.

Some people suggest it's possible to get this on DVD from Ebay but there doesn't seem to be any about at the moment in the UK but there is one in the US

This was one of my all time favourite programmes. I wish some channel would rerun it.Like WoWo I have mentioned it in other posts as a programme I would like to see back on television. I am sure that anyone who liked One Foot in the grave would like this as they had a similar theme.:-D
Maybe it's just me, but I seem to remember Brenda Blethyn getting her kit off a few times and ending up in suzzies.
Yes Postdog, Brenda does get her kit of several times; she had a very curvy figure :)

I bought series 1, 2 & 3 on DVD from Rare TV (I think). It's video quality but more than watchable. It still holds up well with todays comedies and still managed to make me laugh several times :)
It used to fascinate me how Simon Callow spoke in that clipped style, missing any unnecessary words out.
