Harrods is selling cherries for £1.69 each.  That's £165 a kilo — with a punnet weighing 508g and containing around 50 costing £83.82.

And Mr Tesco.... Jack Cohen.

We bought one of his hifi systems although I'm sure we called it something else.  It wasn't very good

I used to sell Amstrad stuff, oddly never had a repeat customer.

I don't think we can guarantee it's going to be hot enough in this country for the cherries to ripen.

I put a cherry tree in my garden when I moved here and I got up one moving and it had gone completely black overnight.

Black trees matter

I've got three cherry trees in my garden.  Some years are better than others.  Lots of blossom on two of them this year, the other doesn't look promising.

the trouble with cherries is they arent around for long- one day they wont be ready, then the next day i might haveloads, then seemingly the next day they are finished (or eaten by the birds!)

Hence the expression.

If you wish to spend your cash on this then fine, personally I wont be.
