 I've known a few folk, ex-pats but fly back to the UK every 3 months for their NHS prescriptions, eye tests and dentistry. 

I was sitting in the Death Ward on a saturday where all the patients DDDDIIIIIEEEEE! and in swept a very svelte administrator - budget at least 1/2 billion -  said to the reg of the clinic, mwah mwah, thank you thank you thank you. The reg simpered prettily

and the object of her thanks, in a wheel chair, looked up from his vomit bowl and said - " I was in Granada you know andalusia this morning"

what she had wangled an 80 y old non dom non tax payer, cancer treatment - free?

I am a British British subject living in Germany, so I am an 'expat' from all perspectives, but from the German viewpoint I'm an 'immigrant' and from the British (and my own) I'm an 'emigrant'
