Well the snow has been falling steadily all night on the hill where I live.

The traffic is backed up at the bottom of my lane!

Although this mornings entertainment however was funny - himself cleared off his car brought the rubber broom only to go back out and find his car covered again - oh I giggled from my warm office!

No snow expected in midlands... Boo....Hiss.... Sulk sulk.

Bit overcast at the morning ment but expected to be bright and clear later.   Had a tooth out yesterday so a bit sore this morning.

  Back to the fast 800 diet too.  Stocked up on interesting cold cuts, and salads, fridge is full of greenstuff and the bread pudding I made on Saturday will be devoured at this mornings knit and natter.   Have hidden the sugar free cookies  but if I have 60 calories free at the end of the day they are not too hard to get to.  I started 2024 23 lbs lower than Jan 2023 so if I manage a repeat this year I will not be unhappy.

Chip - I am so bundled up I feel like scott !! I feel the cold something chronic so always wear multiple layers

If I want to keep the mobility I still have it's essential.  Back to the pool next week and I might ask to be assessed as safe to reuse the gym again. Will need a gentler plan but if that's the case so be it.   I don't like being disabled but hope to put off being severely disabled as long as possible.  Too bloody minded to give in.

Good morning all. Very heavy frost here this morning but no snow thank goodness.  I'm due to lunch out with a few friends today, so will have to venture out into the Arctic weather - super-wrapped up of course in case some idiot opens the bus window as was the case yesterday. Brrrrrr.

We have the decorators here all week doing the utility room, kitchen, hall and porch. Can't get near even the kettle for a cuppa. Went out for a quick latte and sandwich lunch yesterday, will be popping to m&s for something today. Dog is with dog minder, would be a nightmare if he was here, with all the paint around!

We have snow, think it's melting now the sun has made an appearance 🌞

No snow here in North Norfolk, but I see that Yarmouth had some and thats about 50 miles away.  But it's still damn cold with clear skies.

I'm still tucked up under the  the Duvet after an eventful weekend of ambulance and doctors.  

Back surgeon has suggested I go to the university pool which is equipped for disabled and just walk around in the shallow end but not to swim or do any exercises.  But walking in water will strengthen my leg muscles without me doing more damage.  What fun!

It's currently -19C in Chicago - much lower elsewhere in the Midwest -  and well below freezing even down in Texas, but they just crack on with things.  Not here, every year!

Those places that you mention are equipped to deal with snow - we are not!

Indeed they are, Helen. Our son who lives in Helsinki sent us a photo of himself walking to work.. -20, snow spikes on his boots, goose down puffa jacket down to his knees, silk inner gloves and down filled mittens on top, etc.

They're so used to it in Finland and other places, they're well prepared. I'm just glad we don't get it that bad here..yet!
