Annie Nightingale was Keith Chegwin's older sister.

In a 2001 interview, Chegwin said he smoked 60 cigarettes a day and was a recovering alcoholic. He died at his home in Shropshire on 11 December 2017, having been ill with a progressive lung condition. He was 60 years old.

I recall,when I was a young copper at Paddington Green, a very dubious Temporary Detective Constable was in a liasion with her.

She is to be seriously admired, and remembered, that at an age when most of her colleagues were easing into the pipe-and-slippers environment of Radio 2, she embarked on a career immersing.herself in the dance culture, which was embraced by people young enough to be her grandchildren. 

She embarked on a second strand career as a dance DJ dj'ing all around the world gaining great respect as an knowledgeable enthusiast of banging hard-core dance music. 

A sad loss.
