I have just received a text purporting to be from Royal Mail stating that my shipping information is missing an address and have requested me to upload correct shipping info.

I smell Scam. Has any one else on AB received similar. Thanks in advance

Reeks of scam to me.

How would RM know your phone number?

Definitely a scam

I have received several emails purporting to be from RM saying they haven't my address and need to deliver a parcel.

Emails nothing like proper RM ones. Have just deleted all.

Many thanks all. Now deleted.

I had one via a text from a mobile number. Deleted immediately.

One day parliament will create a law where scamming and scammers will be financially punished and hopefully incarcerated.

^ Unfortunately that would be pointless if there's no realistic  of catching them, especially those that are based abroad.

They do get sent to prison when they can be traced - like this chap

And these men https://www.cps.gov.uk/cps/news/four-fraudsters-jailed-ps137-million-investment-scam

The laws are in place, it's tracing them that is difficult

Yes, I have had three or four similar messages, and I have deleted all of them without taking any action.

I most definitely believe they are scams.

Scam. Watch out for the Tesco banking one as well. That is doing the rounds.

You can report suspicious texts or emails about RM deliveries or services to [email protected] If you have the text phone no include it in any email.

Tesco banking emails can be reported to [email protected] I also block all such emails after reporting. Remember though the scammers use multi email addresses, hence to alert Tesco of any new ones. I do not have a Tesco banking account.

Most mail tools allow you to display the email address the mail was sent from.

The other day I received an email purporting to be from Royal Mail, displaying the sender information gave this

RoyalMail Amazing #9039 <[email protected]>

Certainly not an email address the Royal Mail would use.
