When Was The Last Time You Sewed A Button On?

I was responsible for the button tin when I was a child and it was my job to tack matching buttons on to a piece of card.  It seemed that buttons had to be replaced every week back then, probably because of the dolly, mangle and boil washes.

I can't remember the last time I lost or broke a button, we have a very small tin of buttons somewhere but I doubt any of us could thread a needle.

Maybe the sewing machines make a good job of sewing buttons on these days.  We can't remember when we last had to sew a button on

Do you do a lot of knitting, Tuvok?  My grandmother was the last great knitter and crochet expert in the family.

I have a darning egg a darning mushroom but I haven't darned since childhood when I helped mum darn dad's socks.

I knitted from a very young age, making dolls  clothes.  I made up the patterns.  I also crocheted.  And I made most of my clothes in my hippy teens so I could wear things that  nobody else had, like long dresses out of curtain material. Also loved drawing and now I'm useless with my hands!!

I have never been creative or arty, can't draw a straight line nor a stick man.
