James Dyson Loses Liable Case Against The Mirror Group Of Newspapers

James Dyson was quite rightly criticised for supporting Brexit for all the advantages it would bring to the UK (some mistake, surely?), and then relocating his Global Head Office to Singapore.

One Mirror article read ‘Kids, talk the talk but then screw your country and if anyone complains, tell them to suck it up’.

Of course, Dyson does not manufacturer anything in the UK (or Europe for that matter), and so following Brexit has not suffered the disastrous export issues UK manufacturers have, trying to export to the EU.

For Gods sake, change the record.

You really are starting to look like a loon.

"starting to" ?
that boat sailed long  ago...

Yes,these English Tories, these Scottish SNPers should hang their heads in shame Hymie.Nationalists,eh?

If Dyson does not manufacture any products either in the UK or Europe (and I think they make most of their goods in Malaysia) and since the EU does not have a trading agreement with that country (negotiations stalled in 2012) then surely as a "third country" they have the same difficulties (or probably greater) exporting their goods to the EU as the UK does.

So if Dyson can export to the EU apparently without too much difficulty, what are the "disastrous export issues" that UK manufacturers have suffered since Brexit which exporters from Malaysia seem to be able to cope with?

Good point well made, NJ

Jesus why are they cussing you ( again) Hymie

Didn't Dyson win a case against the EUSSR when they tried to claim that his machines were less energy efficient than the German made baggy ones? Cheated during the testing process apparently, and to no ones surprise, to make a Dyson an energy drain and old tech German ones super efficient. They like to cheat and lie over there. VW, BMW,Mercedes, Audi   ...  all at it at one time until the lies were exposed.

Other car manufacturers were at it, too, if you believe the diesel claims people, including Hyundai and Toyota

Of course they were. The Japanese were staunch allies with a previous European dictatorship if my memory serves me. Same morals.

Hyundai is not Japanese

Vauxhall and Ford, too.

NJ - Dyson may very well have the same difficulties importing goods into the EU, but before Brexit we had no issues at all, with the free movement of goods – so are you saying he (James Dyson) wanted to screw-over British manufacturers by encouraging the Pro-Brexit lobby?

"...so are you saying he (James Dyson) wanted to screw-over British manufacturers by encouraging the Pro-Brexit lobby?"

Certainly not. There are few companies in the UK producing products competitive to those Mr Dyson sells. The only one of any significance I can think of is Numatic who produce the "Henry" cleaners (though they produce a far wider range of industrial cleaners than Dyson) . I can't imagine Mr Dyson encouraged people to vote for Brexit simply to gain advantage over them. In any case, Numatic and Dyson are now trading on a fairly level playing field. It may well be that the UK has slightly easier access to sell vacuum cleaners in the EU but I imagine the process for trading is fairly similar for both firms. Neither seem to be reporting any undue difficulties.

In any case, your theory demonstrates perfectly the protectionism that the EU practices. It introduces difficulties for non-members to trade within the bloc, even though their products may be superior. The way for EU manufacturers to gain market share is to make sure they produce the best goods. They should not need to rely on restrictive practices to protect their industries.

never mind hymie, yet again youve been made to look stooopid...how about going to your mate phil and let him know you mate NJ knows what he is talking about, whereas you phil talk out of your....

This was always libel to happen.

Ha ha ha.. ' libel to happen' very amusing.

Nothing to do with Phil, it's Sammy and Brian..

Worth the quote in full..

Brian Reade "the vacuum-cleaner tycoon who championed Vote Leave due to the economic opportunities it would bring to British industry before moving his global head office to Singapore".

"Kids, talk the talk but then screw your country and if anyone complains, tell them to suck it up."

Another joke, no pun intended.. 'suck it up' hahaha :O)

Now for the finale..

Following the decision, an MGN spokesperson said: "We welcome today's judgment which upholds the rights of our columnists to share honestly held opinions, even about powerful or wealthy individuals."

Nuff said.

AB's NJ vs 'my mate' Phil now that'd be worth seeing.
