Yes, Apparently, if you put one up indoors it brings bad luck....
I was brought up being told that you should never open an umbrella indoors as that will bring bad luck. And I don't think I ever have - didn't want to chance it!

And also there is the old riddle of "what will go up a chimney down but won't go down a chimney up"? An Umbrella.
Be careful they will have your eye out...
Definitely not a myth but interesting all the same - Bulgarian journalist Georgi Markov was assassinated in 1978 by having a poisoned umbrella jabbed into his leg in a London street.
