The Saudies have promised to maintain a hands-off approach to visiting fans on the lash.

Is Saudi setting up bars especially?

Be careful though, I mistakenly carried a single 'e' into 'Saudis' but somehow got away with it.

I think they already bar enough. Although do they still like folk to get stoned ?

Ahh but they are not wise are they?

Just wondering where the fans are going to swill beer in Saudi.

Gay beer swilling football fans arent that welcome here are they? - er havent done a poll or anything....

I believe Brighton fans are often subjected to homophobic chants.  Perhaps we're not as civilized on the terraces as we like to think.

football terrace civilisation - yeah right ( this is AB! er, anything goes! and I dont mean deleted)

Yes. So would everybody else. It is a ridiculous competition. I notice the football authorities are having difficulties now getting nations to offer to host it. Long may that continue.

As far as I know Saudi is still a dry country so no one on the lash.  Don't think football fans will be there long enough to brew their own as some expats used to do in the past.

So in the space of 12 years two awful regimes who hate gays and women, with no footballing history and no meaningful interest, host two world cups.

FIFA is a disgrace.

Money talks.

> FIFA is a disgrace.

> Money talks.

That is all there is to say!

It won't happen of course but it woujr be great if certain countries took a stand and said "we aren't going".

As they did when FIDA tried to bring Russian teams back. Although I'm not sure where that's got to.

No country is perfect but there are good footballing reasons for not playing there aside from the political.

No way will they allow alcohol, unlike the Qararis.

Wasn't much the same thing asked about the Qatar World Cup?

I have doubts any World Cup will be happening in 2034 in the Middle East or anywhere
