Thankfully they all seem to have died off

They must have a really short lifespan here in the U.K.

The press interest in them may have died down. The bed bugs are still here.

They've probably all drowned.

They dont need a large lifespan; they multiply quickly.

In any case global warming should soon change conditions to their benefit. Give it a little time.
