10% lead is not enough to secure the record swing they need to overturn an 80 seat majority. Who will replace Sir Beer?

Ich,

Not sure Labour and the SNP and LibDems are natural bed fellows. But they are all anti Tories, so it needs must, it could happen.

The Ulster Unionists must be fed up of being the Tories bìtch all the time.

There'll be a Labour LibDem coalition or at least informal agreement if need be. I'd  be astounded if Labour and the SNP were to do something similar

Just for info... Is Fishwife more acceptable than Gammon? I need to know because I don't want to be ticked off for using the wrong insult.

There's an awful lot of wishful thinking going on in this thread, from all sides.

All we know for sure is that polls can be unreliable.

Atheist

The term "Fishwife" dates back to the 16th century, and originally referred to the daughters or wives of fishermen who sold fish at the market. The term gradually evolved into gendered insult for women who were brash, foul-mouthed, and brassy.

And that to me is what Rayner is!

I hate to be seen to support our Ange but at least she is about as honest as a politician can be.

Sir Kier is abysmal, with the current record of the Tories labour should be romping home but what does he do?  Pops off to a lefty love in and sings the praises of the EU and how he will get closer.  Then, as if that is not enough, the bone head then says he will strile a deal with the EU of illegal immigration that would see us accept even greater numbers.

You really couldnt make it up.  I think Sir Kier is toast whatever happens.

^My sentiments exactly.  The man is a fool who thinks he's making the right noises - but isn't.

Sir Keir

I hope I don't come across as too pedantic but it happens so often you wonder if people think it really is "Kier"

Remember folks: "I before E, except for the PM-to-be" 😁😁😁

My sincere appologies for the spelling mistake.🙄

Angela Rayner is Starmer's John Prescott. The "bad cop" to his "good cop". I also qiite like her.

Yes Keir is a bit dull, but honestly, after Johnson, Truss and co maybe we need a bit of dullness.

There's a long way still to the next election and grabbing at one poll - either good or bad - is probably not hugely helpful.

This is from Guido Fawkes yesterday although it doesn't give the source for the figures.

"Labour’s lead has grown to 18 points, with voting intention now 26% for the Tories and 44% for Labour, a downturn from last week’s figures which gave Rishi a boost in the polls. That will certainly put a spring in Labour’s step heading into conference next week."
