A friend of mine uses the Google search bar to identify unnamed tunes heard on the radio. He just presses the microphone and then 'search for a song.'

Works a treat.... until now. The system leaps into action and immediately throws him out with a 'cannot find - try again'

I have an identical tablet. When I try the same tune after his attempt, it works perfectly. Tune identified.  I should add that he uses the 'mic' all the time instead of typing. That bit still works fine.  It's just the tune recognition software that's playing up.

Any ideas folks?

Tell him to install and try shazam, if that works you know it's not the hardware.
