It seems Mad Vlad now has a force of 200,000 personnel to protect him, and the British PM didn't have even a couple of rozzers to protect his home from nutters climbing all over it.

200,000 personnel won't help much when the missile hits.

Having a go at politicians' homes isn't new. But offenders need to be brought to book properly.

Him? What's this about, Khandro? Do you have a link?

Shameful that the Prime Minister's home was left so vulnerable.
Probably all down to lefty liberal elite coppers Naomi.

No amount of staff will protect Mr Putin once someone decides he is too much of a liability. His best investment would be a fast chopper to get him to some sympathising country.

Ah, I see what you mean now.

//The decision to strengthen the force of around 200,000 personnel came after Mr Putin's leadership was threatened by a Wagner Group mutiny in June.

Thousands of mercenaries, led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, launched a "march on Moscow" calling for senior military officials to be removed from their posts due to their work in the war.

While it was quickly aborted, and Prigozhin was exiled to Belarus, the rebellion weakened Mr Putin's untouchable persona and showed weakness in his leadership. //

yeah I thought that it was lucky we werent living in the time of the IRA.

can you imagine being 'M' or head finker of MI5
and waking up to breakfast television and finking ( er sozza, considering) " what day doing up dere den?"

are we perhaps thinking of the Phoenix Park murders ( IRB and chief secretary for Ireland) 1888?

or the aborted attack on a cabinet minister, when the police waiting for the malefactors, click-clocked their Glocks and it was heard and the IRA ran away

Later said, arming the police with Glocks was completely unfit for their purpose. ( but the coppers wanted guns as big as the SAS's) - such is life, which I will render as "sic verum in vita" today
or should that be " biggus dickus, glockus schlokus"
Spooks not having a good week
they predicted Prighozin and Moscow
but missed completely wagner's take over of the ex-French colonies ( oops or - oo-la-la) - Macron's large froggie nose right out of joint

This is presumably the news that the Rosgvardiya (Russia’s national guard) is to receive heavy weaponry.
They are often thought to be the bodyguard of the Kremlinites but they were probably spooked at the prospect of fully armed Wagnerites advancing on Moscow a couple of months back
From khandro’s link:
The story under “A stagnant counteroffensive - should negotiations now be the priority?” is infuriating.
The offensive is far from “stagnant”
I despair sometimes

Even Caesar made do with far less;

'The Imperial Praetorian Guard was created in 27 B.C.E. by Caesar Augustus as his own personal army to keep order throughout the city of Rome. He instituted nine groups of foot soldiers, or ''cohorts,'' The cohorts had around 600 soldiers each, making the total size of the Praetorian Guard around 3,600 soldiers.'
As most if Russia’s military is fighting in Ukraine (including as a matter of fact detachments of Rosgvardiya) they need to beef up their internal security.
The Rosgvardiya aren’t Putin’s personal guard. It’s just that as internal security is their thing then that is effectively one of their duties.
But he’d be foolish to rely on that
