I went to the opticians at the advice of my GP and they were brilliant. I have shingles in both eyes Right eye is far worse a bit of damage not surprising a lot of pain. But a wee bit of damage to left eye. I'm on my way to hospital 20 miles away to see a consultant on call
I'm totally freaking out what will they do. Opticians say unlikely I will be admitted is this true? High anxiety levels regarding hospitals

Friend had this many moons ago. Good luck, hope you get reassurance you need and a solution.
I truly sympathise with you, Shingles pain has to be the worst kind of pain, I’d think it’ll me a in depth check up on your eyes ,camera etc, have you been prescribed anything yet ,for example Amitriptyline ?

Thanks no nothing yet
Hope it goes well, Gordie. Keep us updated, I can't imagine the pain you must be in.
I'd be surprised if they kept you in
When did you know it was Shingles Gordie?
I think it’s around 48hrs into the diagnosis you would be given anti viral tablets ( 5 if my memory serves me right)
Thanks for the feedback geordie.
I have never known shingles to affect BOTH eyes at the same time.
They will be unlikely to admit you.

Thanks ^ that was helpful

The pain started on Thursday and I noticed these yellow crusty spots on the corner of my eye yesterday. So I think it's the early stage
Thursday makes it too late for anti-virals, I think. I was told when I had my 1st Shingles attack that 72 hours was the outside limit for them and that 48 hrs. was the general cut-off.
You have my sympathy Gordie.
