We're having homemade fishcakes, pea purée, samphire (if he can get some), poached egg and hollandaise. Maybe a side order of fat chips for that Gastropub effect.

How about you? What's ticking your taste buds this Saturday evening?

Probably nothing , we didn’t go out this afternoon but instead went to my daughters where we had delicious lemon cake and Cappuccino from their gadget thingy :0) and£200 for each of us , my late friends ‘other’ jewellery was sold and my daughter was the executor along with the husband’s sister ( he too is deceased j was a very pleasant surprise for us
We will probably have a sandwich later on while watching TV

Cappuccino and cake - yum!

I wouldn't want after that to be fair.
Roasted chicken in a spicy barbecue sauce..... steamed red pots, roasted sweetcorn and green beans - a nice little glass or two of L'Eglise Saint Jacques, a steal of a Bergerac @£6.50 from Tesco and recommended on Kitchen Bites and on the Saturday Breakfast programmes.
roasted chicken thighs by the way...
No, we’re pretty caked out , haha

Captain Grigio?

This is your Captain speaking... ;)
Malt loaf with butter and jam.
I presume your jam is strawberry, raspberry or red morello and not blueberry, gulliver.....
A simple dinner today, pork chops, mash, cauliflower cheese and peas.
where do you get your pork, sharon....we have a wonderful producer down here who sells through the Cornish Food Store, connecting to Waitrose - superb thick pork chops from Perranwell, halfway between Truro and Falmouth - and so thick that one has to render the fat down on the side before tackling the main chop, leaving it medium.....homemade apple sauce and one is away!

I'm including the web site for reference for any ABers making their way down here, inc. Lady CG.....

My evening meal was one of those "let's use up what's in the fridge" things. I diced up a third of can of corned beef and threw it into a frying pan with two thirds of a can of baked beans and a generous quantity of Korean-style BBQ sauce. Once it was heated through, I served it with two slices of buttered bread, with a banana to follow for dessert.

Simple - but surprisingly tasty!
DTC 18.12 Covered in Rice Krispies ....of course.

That sounds like a nice dinner, Sharon.

Chris, I'm a big fan of using up bits and bobs and making something tasty - anything to avoid waste or having to buy numerous ingredients you don't have in.
