Rwanda, A Safe Country For Desperate Refugees?

Listening to Woman's Hour this morning a woman who has spent 10 years in prison in Rwanda for crimes including genocide denial was given a platform to spout her anti-government views.
Have things not come to a pretty pass when people can sprout views that might inhibit our plans to send asylum seekers there?

I think this is in the wrong category and would be better placed elsewhere, but since I can't move it, who are these 'desperate refugees'?

Young men who for the most share our language and aspire to settle here, then bring their families, to live in liberty.
PS, where should this post be?
The point is sandy, everyone knows that Rwanda has had a shocking past, but it has been completely transformed by a new administration into a outward-looking country with a growing economy.

I didn't hear this poor lady's account, but it would have been about her experiences in the country's dark past.
Sharing a language and an aspiration to live here doesn't make them desperate refugees.
They were living in liberty. The last time I looked France was a safe country.

She was jailed for denying there had been genocide ? Sounds as if the authorities are accepting it has occurred. All very confusing.
