I knew someone who lost their dog due to one of those balls on a rope. It got lodged in his throat and he suffocated on the spot. He was a huge Alsation, and no one could help him.
I would have pulled on the rope.

My nephew ( around 2) managed to swallow a conker ( horse chestnut) and it came out the other end.

BUT this does occur in humans -they dont divide an orange into small enough segments and....
