A girly overnighted to York which is just 90 mile down the road from here but instead of our usual Wednesday shenanigans locally, we’re visiting the lovely York in 3 weeks time , going 1st Class of course ( I know it’s hardly worth it but it’s very handy when your friend works for LNER and gets ‘Friends and Famileeeee)
Happy me on this sunny Thursday :0)

Ah thanks Zac, I quite familiar with the city as we’ve had many a good weekend there, we’re staying at the Roman Bath?
My cousin and her husband went to York a few weeks ago for a few days. Absolutely loved it. I've always wanted to visit there, so will have to make plans this year. Hope you all have a great time, Bobbi :-)
Can be a bit rowdy, the old Roman Bath but you lot will probably soem of the rowdy ones. Nice restaurant Cut & Craft just over the road.

Thanks Patsy,, put it on your bucket list
What DO you mean Mr Z , haha

Sounds good to me ( restaurant) should we book in advance?
But it is midweek we’re there
I'm not sure you can book, Bobbie. Be aware that you're in a world heritage destination at virtually the height of the season. There's a nice circular bar area for a drink if you have to wait for a table.

Thanks for that tip Zac, much appreciated
Can I come too. Actually I feel a shopping trip to York coming on - but not at the weekend. If you like Italian food I can strongly recommend 'Il Vecchio Scuolo' (if I've spelled it correctly). Top of the Shambles, not far down from the Minster. It's pretty roomy - on our yearly family 'girls day out Christmas shopping expedition' we usually go there.
If it's survived the recession so far, 'Ate O'Clock' is not far from M&S - across the square and downhill a bit to the left. Very good 'Moules' amongst a varied menu - everyone was happy with their choice.
Enjoy your day!
