Yes we cook a lot on the gas BBQ , every day in warm weather and eat outside. We have had a ‘BBQ’ invited people and firing up the charcoal one last w/end. We like to make the most of the weather and I love BBQ food.
I have all the patience in the world when it comes to cooking exotic and labour intensive meals on my range inside the house.
For the most, my experience, of BBQs are charcoaled good meat ruined and inedible. I would sooner cook in and eat it outside (flies and wasps permitting)I have only been to one BBQ where my hosts are consistently good at it and carefully marinade the meat overnight. Hasn't been warm enough for me yet in any case.
Oh, no. Too much like hard work.
This is the closest I will get to alfresco cooking. I have a Gas BBQ but rarely use it. We sat down to eat this and were invaded by swarms of flies so ended up eating inside in any case. :-(

We don't barbeque ourselves but judging by the smoke and smells our neighbours have, a lot.
No, not worth the hassle and mess. Just cook the food in the kitchen and take it outside.
What hassle?
Burnt food is totally down to the cook not the cooking process. I can’t say it’s more work or hassle cooking on a gas BBQ than a regular stove but charcoal takes more planning.
Not a fan of BBQs although I enjoy eating outside. Cook in the kitchen then carry out - less hassle all round.
//but charcoal takes more planning.//
I like to think I am a cook and not an engine room stoker. Shovelling burning coals around and waiting for white ash to arrive before shifting meat about is not my idea of fun, especially with mess to clear up afterwards. I'll let our Mediterranean friends do that for me. They have it off to a fine art that I am yet to bother to master. Gas BBQs don't taste the same imo. Think of the smoke and burning rainforests that produce charcoal!

Yes last Saturday, all prepped food is done and kept in the kitchen salad dips etc and BBQ'd food also taken into the kitchen at my Brothers. It's more about the family and friends get together than the food even though that was top notch.
Hate BBQs. I remember the days when people cooked and ate indoors and toileted outside.
Much more sensible :D
Looking at it like that then yes, I don't however think cavemen/women ate inside their caves.
//and toileted outside.//
Ah. The 'Ty bach' with the torn pages of the South Wales Gazette hanging on the string.
years ago, we inherited two stray ginger cats who were barbecue fiends. they regularly invited themselves to outside eating events and must have been good with the "big sad eyes" act, judging by the amount of booty they brought back over the years....
Hate barbecues. Hate the smell.
the only barbeque i got to is when i get my hair cut!
