I used to enjoy his impressions of the players routine.

Ttt it's a shame theres no characters in the game today!
Is that because the players can no longer smoke and drink their way through the match?
I used to love the late 70s and 80s players, superb characters. Remember big Bill Werbeniuk (who Dickies Davies insisted on calling Werbenuke!)? Anyway he had to drink about 10 pints before he could play and managed to get it as a tax write off! Even then he'd go out at the break and get 4 pints jugs of lager!
Dear, dear John, he never made me laugh except when THE CUE BALL!!! didn't go in.

Poor wee Dougie, didn't get it!
You had tae luv the game to be able to laff at John Virgo! Imho of course!.
He was funny to snooker fans who knew the players he was impersonating, bafflingly odd to everyone else.

That was funny. Thanks.
AH that's exactly what I was going to say.
