I especially love seeing when, in relation to EU citizens with lives long-established in the UK, brexoids suddenly insist we should do what the EU do.
Also reassuring to see the bog-standard blurts of ignorance and dumb dismissive generalisations that are always emitted in regard to votes for 16-17yos. Keep the traditions up, eh?

Speaking at a conference for Conservatives in London, he accused Labour of "gerrymandering" - fixing rules to gain electoral advantage - by potentially extending voting rights to some EU citizens if they enter government.
He told delegates Labour's idea was "particularly silly," adding: "Parties that try and gerrymander end up finding that their clever scheme comes back to bite them, as dare I say we found by insisting on voter ID for elections.
"We found the people who didn't have ID were elderly and they by and large voted Conservative, so we made it hard for our own voters and we upset a system that worked perfectly well."
So Labour 'gerrymandering' would be wrong, but it was ok for the Tories to try it?

I agree that gerrymandering is wrong, (though unionists were happy with it in Nortern Ireland for a long time.)
I have some sympathy with the idea that long-term permanent residents should get the vote, but not so we can rejoin the EU, which I think is a non-starter anyway.
I had many years teaching up to 18 year olds and many were mature and well able to choose how to vote sensibly. Unfortunately, many were not, )though the same could be said of plenty of adults,) so on balance I am not for lowering the voting age.
