Just a thought
It's probably been debated before but - did Neil Armstrong really walk on the moon or was it all one big hoax ??

well I tended to think along the same lines, but recently we saw a TV show on hoaxez and conspiracies, and the number of people who thought it was a hoax amazed me. Must say though, that I was around then and watched the TV footage but quite a few of the TV celebs weren't, [too young] so is this an attitude of younger people now ??
I'll start with the Van Allen belt,,, it would take 3' of lead to protect yourself from the radiation... So they couldn't have went in a ship made of tin foil.
When you hear the words 'the eagle has landed', why can't you hear the retro rockets slowing the ship down?
When mr Armstrong climbs out and gives his 'one giant leap' speech, who is holding the camera?
Why with a telescope can you not see any debris ie; flags, space mobiles and such,,, they have the telescopes to see that good, so why have i never seen a pic.
It was ********, they just wanted one over on the Ruskies.

When it happened,I was working at Sussex university and many of the technical staff were roped in as projectionists at a conference that lasted several weeks and was all about the moon landing. There were eminent scientists from all over the world and one conference dealt with the naming of all the new craters that they had found. I remember Patrick Moore being at that one.
If it was a hoax, then why did they bother with all this? We must have seen miles of footage that was never screened on TV.

What the camera that was attached to the lunar lander you mean?
The footage most people associate with Neil Armstrong stepping down the ladder is actually footage taken of Buzz Aldrin by Neil Armstrong looking back at the lander after already setting foot on the moon. Armstrong's words are often played over this footage, given fuel to the nutters.
The actual footage of Neil Armstrong going down the ladder is taken at very close quarters from a camera mounted on the side of the lander, at the top of the ladder, is a bit hazy and not at all spectactular.
If any of you get the chance i recommend you all watch 'For All Mankind' which is a documentary using footage from the moon landings. Most of the footage was locked away in an NASA archive until someone discovered it and cut it together into this amazing film. If NASA had gone to so much trouble to fake hours and hours of stunning footage, why did they keep it from public consumption for over 20 years?

"The TV camera was stowed in an instrument pallet in the Lunar Module's descent stage. When Armstrong was at the top of the ladder, he pulled a lanyard to swing open the pallet, which was hinged at the bottom. The TV camera, which was attached to it, also swung down. Buzz Aldrin then switched on the camera from the Lunar Module cabin. The camera was pointing at the ladder of the Lunar Module so that TV pictures of Armstrong's initial steps on the Moon could be relayed to the world.
The camera was later removed from its mounting and placed on a tripod some 30 feet from the Lunar Module, where it was left unattended to cover the remainder of the moonwalk."
As for conspiracy theory, how many people would have to be involved in an event of that magnitiude? If there was a conspiracy, why has no one spoken admitting as much in all that time? If their silence was bought the cost of buying it would have cost more than the mission itself!

"Conspiracies" are far more entertaining than the truth to the brain-deads who want to believe them. It gives them a misplaced sense of superiority over us lame-brains who understand the science. There are many websites devoted to this idiocy that the moon landings were faked. Some of them are incredibly well presented and will appeal to the soft-brains who either don't understand the science or want to think themselves "in" on something that the rest of us don't get, according to them. We should pat them on the head and send them back into the garden to sniff their own turds.

That's rubbish. It only takes about an hour to go through the Van Allen belt. To get enough radiation to kill you would take about 100 hours.

The moon has Laser reflectors on it put there by the astronauts, these had to be setup to reflect back acurately. Astronomers all over the world use them regularly.
There are about 600lbs of moon rocks that any reputable lab can order from Nasa and examine, no one has ever doubted their origin. Some time ago there was a documentary based around faking the moon rocks as per the conspiracy theorists claims. The conclusion was that to fool any geologist as to their origin was impossible, in fact the final conclusion was that it would be easier to go to the moon and get them than to fake them.
Now listen very carefully you hoax belivers, you are bing conned into believing this please start again with an open mind and you will see that they went to the moon, several times.
