since the final will be contested by the 2 top Manchester teams, is this the cue for the FA to move the final away from Wembley to a more sensible (and nearer to Manchester) venue?

Wembley cost the FA a £Billion to build.
They have to use it as much as possible, so there is absolutely no chance of it being moved.

It isn’t as if Wembley isn’t now paying its way. It bribe even years ago. It’s used as it’s the traditional venue.

What would be good would be a stadium of near equal capacity further north in future

For many decades the Greyhound Racing at Wembley subsidised the running of the stadium. Such a shame they did not include a greyhound track when they rebuilt the stadium.

Nobody in their right mind would have done that when the stadium was being planned.

Greyhound racing has been in decline since the 1960s and where there were once more than 250 tracks in the country, there are now around 20. Attendance is meagre and at many meetings the majority of the spectators are owners, trainers and bookmakers, who all get free admission. Most of the meetings are in the afternoons, and they are heavily subsidised by "BAGS" - the Bookmakers' Afternoon Greyhound Service - so as to give their punters something to bet on when horse racing is thin on the ground.

It would not surprise me if greyhound racing completely died out in the next few years.

It is also the centenary of the first Wembley FA Cup Final - tho why some are saying Wembley stadium is 100 years old baffles me.

Sadly, the teams competing in the final get a very low allocation of tickets. The combined Manchester teams have in excess of 100,000 weekly fans, Wembley holds 90,000, and both teams will get 30,000 tickets.
