After reading the latest Wordle post, I was wondering, if you play, what words do you start with?

I mainly play Octordle and start with STERN and AUDIO, then maybe CLIMB or PSYCH.

I use ERUPT & ADIOS. This gives all the vowels plus useful consonants. The other day this gave me all five letters so it was just a matter of sorting an anagram.

Roate. Not only the commonest letters but in positions they most commonly occur. Then if that is a bust Cling is my second choice. Trying L I and N

Trying to collect all the vowels seems to be a good starting strategy.

My first guess is always "trail".
Secondly, if I've only got a letter or 2, I'll then choose "chose".... see what I did there !!
Finally, again depending on how many letters I have, I'll choose "funky"

just tried your suggestion on Word Master, Giz, and got it in three.

I use canoe and fruit which gives all the vowels - with e placed at the end - and a reasonable collection of consonants

These are all mostly anagrams of the same letters. As long as you get the vowels and the common consonants you're off to a good start.
