Seeing on a regular basis long absent kingfishers on our local stream.

Oh how lovely, Novalis. I would pay good money to see those.

I like Rowan's idea of buying a lottery home on an estuary.
I just watched a video clip of a kingfisher frozen to a metal railing, and a guy thawed it out just by the warmth of his hand.
Two reasons...both monetary. After reading that car insurance premiums were increasing dramatically, I was expecting the worst. However, my LV premium has decreased by 15% ( and went down last year by 6%).
Brown envelope from HMRC this morning...gulp! However, it's a refund of several hundred pounds for overpaid interest on investments!
Almost too good to believe...drinks are on me!
Mr BM is all smiley and happy because he picks up his new car on Friday. He is like a kid waiting for Christmas.

I have a day off tomorrow.

The vet is already paid for so no big bills there.

I am going out for wine and birthday cake tomorrow afternoon at my neighbours. She makes the best cakes ever.
Does that mean you are not allowed to drive Mr BM's new car again?
It looks like I have another 7 days off until I start my new job
Question Author
gingejbee, that's fantastic.

Have a lovely day of tomorrow and enjoy the wine and cake, BM.
I’ve just had a lovely bouquet and card delivered from my neighbour.
Thank you LCG.

RH - I think he will let me (well it will be that or he has to go to Tescos - we went down to one car since we both work from home and it is rare that we are both out at the same time. It seemed a ridiculous expense to have two cars sitting there doing nothing. His current car is a 2019 plate and has only done 10,000 miles). Although I imagine I have a few weeks of a) him being a bit precious about it and b) me sighing quite a lot.
His old car is very nice to be fair
Got a cheque for £100 from Take a Break Magazine!!

So glad to be home ! It's a shame we can't manage with one car but it's just not an option for now. Maybe when one or both of us retires.
You've got a little one, Lady CG. I imagine it would be very hard to manage with 2 adults, both out working and a wee one. We both work from home - Mr BM hasnt been to his office since 2018. I tend to do a lot by MSTeams and if I don't more often than not, train is the best answer. About 20 times a year, I have to drive somewhere. If Mr BM was out at his office, it would be different.
'You've got a little one, Lady CG.' That's a bit personal!

I'd love to work from home all the time, BM, but I would miss the girls in the office. We get on so well and we socialise out of work too. It's just so comfortable at home though. I stayed in my PJs and fluffy dressing gown all day.

Haha, Zacs. Beautiful things come in small packages and I'm just a smidgen under 5'4" ;-)
I, too, am just a smidgeon under 5'4".

Mr BM informed me that the new car has "dwarf mode" (ie I can move the seat forward sufficiently). I love him, but............

I know when he's been using my car because my feet won't reach the peddles and he's retuned the radio to R2. Grrrr...
