Cat cold

Two of my female cats gave birth to 11 kittens all together. We have gotten rid of 3 already, leaving us with 8. Well recently they all have been sneezing, some to a greater extend. Along with the mothers, and the two tom cats that we have. One tom cat and one kitten have an watery eye. Well the kitten with the watery eye is also breathing with its mouth open, like it's choking. Is that part of the cold also? Or a more serious situation?

Yep, sounds like cat flu - VERY contagious and potentially fatal if not caught in time.

As they are all un-neutered there is a high risk of them having caught Feline Immune deficiency or feline leukaemia...which would make them more likely to pick up flu & eye infections etc... Please for their sake get them tested & neutered, or you will just keep producing unwanted litters who might be carrying these very infectious diseases & passing them on to other cats. The Cats protection & also the RSPCA do schemes to help those who can't afford the neutering fee. In the short term, please get these cats to the Vet & don't leave them suffering...if it's got to the stage that they are struggling for breath it might already be too late, I hope it isn't.

hello my two cats had this and it started to spread to kittens. open the cats mouth and see if they have got an ulcer on tounge. it is called clamidia they can treat it but they have to be carefull what they use because of the kittens. if it is that its nothing to worry about
